Bitter Blood Orange Syrup is Back for 2025!
It's true! I told a bunch of y'all last year that I'd never make this again because it was so painstaking. First we zest the oranges, then we juice them. Then we simmer the peels, juice, and zest in our simple syrup base of organic cane sugar and water until we hit that just-right bitter note. When it's all done we have to strain everything through a fine mesh sieve and get it into bottles. IT TAKES FOREVER, and you have to touch every orange so many times in the process (a major efficiency faux-pas).
If it didn't taste SO GOOD we wouldn't be doing it again, that's for dang sure.
New and Improved for 2025
We leveled up our processes a bit this year so it's not so crippling (seriously, couldn't use my hands for a couple days after all the zesting and juicing last year), and are excited to bring Bitter Blood Orange 2025 to you soon! It's looking to be ready in April!
