Is it just me or is it kind of great that we don't have to go through breakup this year? Don't get me wrong, I definitely missed the snow this winter (as did Nate, since he didn't get to build another epic snow fort in our culdesac). But with all this sunshine and warm weather and - gasp! - running outside, I'm getting pretty stoked about a longer gardening season and a lot less mud on my boots!
With all this happening and the new burst of energy I'm feeling, it’s the perfect time for some fresh, vibrant spring drinky drinks. Let’s dive into three light, refreshing, and downright delicious spring beverages that will have you toasting to the season in style!
1. Pear Blossom Sparkler 🌼🍐
We released Spiced Pear syrup to get us through dry January, but we still have some in stock and it makes a great transition-to-spring flavor! This bubbly sip is elegant and easy to make. The perfect balance of sweet, spice, and sparkle.
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Full Moon Spiced Pear Simple Syrup
- 1 oz gin (or vodka for a lighter flavor)
- 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
- Prosecco or sparkling wine
- Lemon twist or edible flower for garnish
Instructions:
- Fill a shaker with ice and combine the Spiced Pear Simple Syrup, gin, and lemon juice. Shake until chilled.
- Strain into a champagne flute or coupe glass.
- Top with Prosecco and give it a gentle stir.
- Garnish with a lemon twist or an edible flower for that extra springtime flair.
- Sip and pretend you’re lounging in a sunlit meadow - even if it's really just sunshine through the window and it's actually still cold outside.
If you'd like to make a lower ABV drink, swap the prosecco out for sparkling water.
2. Lavender Lemonade (spiked or not) 💜🍋
Spring = lavender. Everybody know that.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Full Moon Lavender Simple Syrup
- 1 oz vodka (optional)
- 1 oz fresh lemon juice
- 3 oz soda water
- Ice
- Lemon wheel and sprig of lavender for garnish
Instructions:
- In a tall glass, combine the Lavender Simple Syrup, vodka, and lemon juice over ice.
- Top with soda water and stir gently.
- Garnish with a lemon wheel if you're feeling fancy.
- Enjoy while soaking up some much-needed spring sunshine!
3. Vanilla Cardamom Mule 🌿✨
This twist on the classic Moscow Mule uses our Cardamom + Vanilla Simple Syrup for a warm yet refreshing flavor profile. Perfect for those crisp spring evenings!
Ingredients:
- 1 oz Full Moon Cardamom + Vanilla Simple Syrup
- 1.5 oz vodka
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- Ginger beer
- Ice
- Lime wedge and mint sprig for garnish
Instructions:
- Fill a copper mug (or your favorite glass) with ice.
- Add the Cardamom + Vanilla Simple Syrup, vodka, and lime juice. Stir to combine.
- Top with ginger beer and give it a gentle stir.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint.
- Cheers to spring with every spicy-sweet sip!
4. Strawberry + Sage Matcha Latte🌿✨
Strawberry + Sage is the perfect pairing for matcha, and I will die on that hill. This is a fantastic, herbaceous, grassy drink that literally tastes like spring - and will make you feel like spring too.
Ingredients:
- 0.75 oz Full Moon Strawberry + Sage Simple Syrup
- 2 oz matcha
- 8oz milk of choice
- Ice
Instructions:
- Fill your favorite glass with ice
- Add all the ingredients together and stir to combine.
- If you want to top with cold foam, mix 1 Tbsp of syrup with 3 Tbsp of milk and froth.
If you're going to indulge in something besides tap water this season, make it something good. As I write this, I'm sitting at a coffee shop sipping a flavored lemonade - the flavors sounded appealing, but as I'm sipping it, all I can think of is how fake it tastes. And that's because it is fake. Full Moon is real. Full Moon does it right.
